All schools need to be safe environments for everyone, free
of harassment, prejudice and discrimination.
It is possible to respect
different moral perspectives and religious viewpoints while
encouraging and promoting
respectful behavior and attitudes by everyone toward all people.

Alabama Rainbow Project recognizes that there
is much work to be done in the state of Alabama regarding providing school environments of respect and safety for gay, lesbian,
bisexual and transgender (GLBT) individuals. We are committed to providing education and awareness to counselors, principals,
teachers, parents and students regarding the special needs of GLBT people. It is our hope that through awareness and
education, we can transform school environments into places that embrace and celebrate individual differences of all kinds.
