Services are available to counselors, administrators, educators, students & parents

Training Workshops
Training workshops are available for counselors and administrators.  If you are interested in hosting workshop for your school or school system, please contact us and we will work with you to design a training program to fit your needs.  Workshops are available in 2-hr, half-day or full-day formats.  A wide variety of topics are available for presentation including:
  • Ethical and professional responsibility of counselors and administrators toward sexual minority individuals
  • Legal issues concerning sexual minority youth and schools
  • At-Risk concerns for sexual minority youth
  • Gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender youth of color
  • Same-sex parents
  • Intervention strategies regarding sexual minority issues
  • Tools to create safe spaces and increase tolerance

Consultation
We are available for consultation to school counselors and administrators regarding specific sexual minority issues and concerns that arise in your school.  Consultants are licensed professional counselors who are trained, knowledgeable and experienced in dealing with sexual minority issues.  You may contact us by e-mail or phone at:

Resources
It is the goal of the Alabama Rainbow Project that the schools of Alabama become aware and educated about the issues concerning sexual minority youth.  We provide numerous resources that have been created and collected to help educate counselors, administrators, students, educators and parents about pertinent issues.  You will find many resources available to download on this website.  We have also provided links to other websites that have valuable resources that will be useful to people wanting to increase awareness, knowledge and skills.
